Tsikoudia is a traditional distillery of Crete. The raw material for the production of tsikoudia is "chikouda", ie the mass (peeled and grained) left after the grapes are squeezed to produce wine. Chikoudia, after being fermented by alcoholic fermentation, is transported to bronze nymphs where the tsikoudia is distilled and produced. The tsikoudia - as opposed to tsipouro - is usually a single distillation. It fits perfectly with all Cretan meze. You can combine it with honey and make a very nice winter drink for you and your friends.
