Aristides Cheretis is one of the most famous modern non-scholar craftsmen of mantinada, and this edition includes a selection of about two hundred mantinades from the more than six thousand composers. The source, with many exquisite motifs, their poetry, while embellishing the accumulated wealth of the traditional art he cultivates, at the same time escapes quite often from one of the strict traditional rules of the genre, reflecting the spontaneity of a popular creator open to influences and devoted primarily to needs of a personal expression.
