“Aerakis - Cretan Musical Workshop & Seistron” music publishing, having nearly 40 years of record history and spreading our genuine Cretan musical tradition to the world, are proud to present the record album with the title “Made of Crete”. This is an essentially instrumental album consisting of eight musical sections, selected from representative pieces of Crete.
Iakovos Paterakis with his unique performances on lyra deposits his feeling, present in the music canvas of our land, with typical songs adapted in his own unique way and transformed in a new feast of colours and senses.
Recording these beautiful musical moments, whose outcome was often beyond our expectations, we passionately but selflessly present you our music by unfolding it in front of you, through the dynamic of “syrta”, the primordial rhythmicity of the dances and the endless disposition of exploring its unknown aspects.
Companion to our project is Minas Paigniotakis, by putting his soul in the playing of percussion and giving his own pulse and mood on the record.
We would like to dedicate this record with great pleasure to all the hopelessly in love with the music of our land.
